Looked-after children still face double jeopardy of poor GCSEs and lack of opportunities
As GCSE results and the range of opportunities they could bring stir the minds of 16-year-olds around the country, if this year’s results are like years past, looked-after children will once again find themselves behind the opportunity curve. The National Care Advisory Service (NCAS), managed by Catch22 a local charity with a national reach, has been urging local authorities to continue to improve educational outcomes for looked after children.

NCAS supports call to fund internships for care leavers
A Government-funded model for transforming the current internship system to include ‘non-graduate talent’, proposed in a recent Demos report, will help level the playing field for care leavers in accessing real workplace experience and opportunities, says the National Care Advisory Service (NCAS)
