Influencing policy

We understand the seemingly impossible situations young people face because of the experiences of our staff, volunteers and young people all over the UK. We use this knowledge to campaign for change on their behalf.

Over the past few years we’ve helped improve the support available to young people leaving care and influenced policy and practice in youth crime prevention.

Catch22 produce campaign reports, summaries and briefing papers for decision makers (politicians) and opinion formers (the media and the public). We also respond to Government consultations, brief and meet with parliamentarians, organise lobbying activities and work closely with civil servants on policy.

Briefings and policy consultation responses

All of Catch22's policy and parliamentarty briefings can be downloaded from the Publications section of the website

Ready or Not
Catch22 are calling for new thinking about policies for young people in their transition to adulthood. We think support for young people, aged 16 to 25, should follow need not age.

'After seeing the work that Catch22 does with some of the most disadvantaged young people, in helping them to transform their lives, I wanted to help too.
Apprenticeships give young people jobs and opportunities for the future. By offering an apprenticeship to a young person from Harlow, I hope that my example will be followed by more Members of Parliament.'
