Brighton Marathon 2011
23 August 2010
Do you fancy putting your best foot forward for Catch22? Then we want to hear from you!
Catch22 have a limited number of places available for this great event on Sunday 10 April.
The race route for the Brighton Marathon starts with a loop of gorgeous Preston Park, and then takes in the best of the city centre including Brighton Pavilion and fabulous stretches of coastal road, including panoramic views where the glorious South Downs meet the English Channel.
The Brighton Marathon course
Generally, it is a fast course, held exclusively on roads and tarmac promenade. The entire route is free of traffic and where necessary, there are barriers separating runners from pedestrians and other potential hazards.
There are some undulations in the route, principally in the first 11 miles of the race, but the good news for entrants is that the last 15 miles are either flat or downhill.
The last mile is along the seafront road beside thousands of cheering spectators, while the finish line is in Madeira Drive, just east of the brilliant Brighton Pier.
