Ready or Not campaign

Becoming a fully independent adult doesn’t happen overnight, nor on any given birthday. It’s a gradual process which moves at different speeds for each young person.

Young people need help as they make the transition from childhood to adulthood. Many will have families or communities to call on, but those who don’t need a helping hand.

Catch22's Ready or Not campaign calls for decisive action to overhaul our entire approach to young adulthood. The years from 16 to 25 should be formally recognised as a specific life stage. Central and local government should provide leadership to ensure the better co-ordination of services for young people at a local level.

Take action for young people

You can support young people in the transition to adulthood by emailing your local MPand asking them to sign EDM 731: Support for Young People.
