What kind of interventions will be supported to replicate?
The Realising Ambition programme will replicate interventions proven to support children and young people aged 8 to 14-years-old. Evidence suggests that this is the key age range where prevention or early intervention in pathways to offending can make a difference.
Realising Ambition projects target risk factors associated with offending such as:
- anti-social behaviour
- drug and substance abuse
- difficulties at school
- family and relationship issues including families with a history of offending
- personal, behavioural, emotional or mental health and learning difficulties
- economic disadvantage
- those experienced by particularly vulnerable groups, for example, children and young people in care or those who are separated from their family.
As such, interventions are purposefully diverse in terms of the context in which they are delivered.
