Bespoke Services: Family Support and Parent Liaison

Support for parents caring for children and young people who are experiencing difficulties including supported liaison between the family and the young person's school

Caring for children and young people who are experiencing difficulties can be a challenging time for parents, particularly when problems already exist within the family.

We support parents with skills and strategies for improving their approach through evidence-based group work and individual support within the family home.

Support is provided by trained and highly experienced staff using nationally-recognised parenting models such as STOP (for parents with adolescent children), Incredible Years (for parents with children aged 4 to 12-years-old) and Triple P (Positive Parenting Plus).

We also support liaison between parents and their child’s school to ensure they have an understanding of the difficulties their child is presenting in school. These issues can be shared and discussed with parents as part of an ongoing intervention, which ensures that schools are in communication with hard-to-engage families and that parents are able to begin to address their child’s needs in a new way.

‘As a Headteacher I find it invaluable that we can instantly provide support to our families. Catch22 is gaining the trust of some of our very vulnerable parents and that continuity of approach will be vital if this good work is to continue.’
Janette Quinn, Headteacher

‘A parent of FN needed support to apply consistent boundaries and trust the school to help her behave appropriately. Catch22 was able to help the parent do all of this.’
Sue Scott, SEN Coordinator
