Welcome Pack

Our case workers are experienced in working with children and young people and are all committed to making sure children have the best support to move on positively with their lives.

If you have been reported missing or if adults around you believe you may be at risk of exploitation, Catch22 will be in touch.

Catch22 is an independent service, not part of Social Care or the Police.

What is “Child Criminal Exploitation”?

Exploitation is when someone takes advantage of you for their own benefit. They might give you something to get you to do things for them, or they might force you to do things you don’t want to do. These could be criminal things.

What happens when you get in touch?

If you are at risk of and/or experiencing exploitation, our case worker will contact you and arrange to see you at a time and place you prefer and in the way you feel most comfortable. We will work with you to understand what’s been going on in your life and to support you to be able to make positive choices.

You’re not in trouble; if you’ve been groomed or exploited, it’s not your fault.

The case worker will meet with you regularly and support you towards achieving your goals.

What other support can the Catch22 Music to My Ears team provide?

You can find out more about the Music to My Ears service on our service page.

We might make referrals into other services if you would like more support with anything.

We also have a Catch22 Surrey Young People’s Substance Misuse Service, for 11 – 25-year-olds.  This is a voluntary and confidential service.

Music to My Ears has been good for my future. I learnt how to produce music and created a CV. I built my skills up through this project, which has prepared me for working life. It’s helped to clear my mind by letting me focus on music in a safe space”.

“For the first 3-4 months I moved here I was anxious about my surroundings and would stay home a lot. Now I feel comfortable leaving the house and I can trust myself that I won’t get back involved in crime, this has literally saved my life”.

“Children’s mentors require so many positive qualities like care, compassion, patience, and commitment. You have all these qualities in abundance. My son has really enjoyed the short time he has been at Catch22. He has felt welcome and part of the session from day one! Your incredible personality: always smiling, non-judgmental attitude makes it easy for hard-to-reach child like mine to be accepting of support. Carry on the good work!
