Our spokespeople

Catch22 has expert speakers and spokespeople available for media interviews, comments and presentations on a wide range of issues.

Why choose a speaker from Catch22?

We believe that public services work best when organisations work together, and that it’s our responsibility to share our ideas and experience. Our speakers are knowledgeable in both practice and the public policy environment.

To arrange an interview, comment or presentation, contact our External Affairs team at or on 020 7336 4834.

Public service reform
Catch22 has a 200 year history of quality delivery and is committed to transforming public services through innovation. We believe services must be radically redesigned around the principles of being ‘more human’ and building strong relationships, unlocking financial and social capacity, and championing local accountability and governance.

Children’s social care
Catch22 delivers a wide range of integrated support services designed to help resolve complex difficulties experienced by young people and their families/carers. At a time of rapid and significant transformation in government policy around children’s social care, our speakers are familiar with the emerging new landscape and looking to the future of what re-imagined children’s services could be.

Child sexual exploitation (CSE)
Catch22’s award winning missing from home or care services identify reasons for young people running away and provide support. Our services also prevent or stop child sexual exploitation, raise awareness amongst young people and provide training for professionals, parents and carers.

Young people’s mental health and wellbeing
Catch22 delivers emotional wellbeing support to many vulnerable groups including looked after children, those exhibiting harmful sexual behaviour, young people with special educational needs and those at risk of entering or already involved with the criminal justice system. Our speakers can comment on the wider structural or commissioning challenges that affect mental health delivery for young people, as well drawing on examples from our own innovative services to demonstrate effective practical approaches.

Substance misuse
Catch22 is a specialist at providing universal, targeted and specialist substance misuse services for young people and offer a truly holistic approach, putting the young person at the centre of the treatment to understand and address the factors driving behaviour and build their personal resilience.

Catch22 works nationally to address the multiple and complex issues that can lead to youth violence and gang involvement. Speakers from our management and research teams can present on policy and frontline practice to help audiences understand how to reduce the harm caused by gangs, gang-related crime and youth violence.

Youth justice
Our services cover the spectrum of youth justice, from crime diversion and prevention through to intensive supervision and surveillance and reparation. This wide ranging expertise enables our speakers to give comprehensive, informed presentations to help audiences understand the landscape and improve their own strategies and practice.

Prison and rehabilitation
Catch22 works with people with convictions in prisons and in the community. In custody, our offender management capability is unique. We provide support from entry into prison right through to transition into community life. Then, in the community, we provide community justice services that reduce re-offending, support victims of crime and make communities safer. Our speakers range from strategic leaders to experienced frontline managers.

Academies and alternative education
Catch22 is an alternative education provider delivering programmes to young people in schools, colleges, community centres, pupil referral units and young offender units – as well as through include, our own network of registered schools and the Catch22 Multi Academies Trust. Our speakers can talk about or comment on the national landscape for alternative education providers as well as effective management and relationship-based approaches to teaching and learning that ensure challenging learners of all ages can progress and succeed in sustained education or employment.

Apprenticeships and employability
Catch22 delivers high quality and responsive apprenticeships and employability programmes that are relevant to the needs and aspirations of learners and job seekers. Our extensive industry experience across 15 sectors means our speakers understand the business requirements of employers, whatever their size, which is especially important at this time of changing requirements and costs.

Social business
Catch22 has long advocated the need for radical reform of a wide range of public services. We have taken the controversial view that ‘the new economics’ creates a genuine opportunity to embrace change and think differently about how services are organised and who does what. We consider ourselves to be a social business: a not-for-profit business with a social mission. We believe in unlocking greater capacity within our sector to ensure we are all fit for the future.

Social innovation and investment
As a social business, Catch22 sees investment as a key enabler of reform, innovation and enterprise within the sector. We are excited by opportunities to think differently, from social impact bonds to social enterprises. Catch22 has been engaging in social investment for a number of years, developing strategies to make the most of the opportunities social investment provides, using innovation to tackle the most stubborn social challenges.

Social enterprise
Social enterprise can build sustainable community infrastructure and go beyond what public services can achieve alone. In 2012 we set up our first social enterprise, a garage called Auto22 and then in 2015, a start up incubator called Launch22. Our strategic social enterprise leads can speak and present on the challenges and opportunities in the space, sharing valuable insights and expertise.

The traditional model of outsourcing our public services needs urgent revision and innovation. While there is a need for greater commercial awareness in our sector, we must ensure that social purpose is not lost. Catch22 broadly supports partnership working as one route towards both improving outcomes and encouraging efficiencies. Our commentators can draw from our experience across the public service markets in which we deliver to provide insight for a range of audiences.

Charities have rightly come under the spotlight for the way in which they operate, not least for their fundraising activities but also for the ways they use their funds and the quality of their governance. Against this backdrop we are proud of our robust governance and transparency. Our speakers are able to comment and present on these themes to share our expertise and reflect on the wider picture for our sector.
