Catch22 The Hive: Evaluation Report 2026

Recent findings show the significant and positive impact Catch22’s The Hive has on young people who are facing mental health challenges or feelings of distress and overwhelm. These findings are particularly relevant amidst a backdrop of growing mental distress among young people across the UK, as highlighted by Professor Peter Fonagy, who is leading a government commissioned review into mental health conditions.

The Hive offers early intervention and wraparound support for young people experiencing, or at risk of, poor mental health. It works as a “one-stop shop,” bringing together emotional, social, physical and practical support in one place because wellbeing rarely comes down to just one thing.

An evaluation report found after receiving support or engaging with the social hub young people saw significant improvement in their lives:

  • 90.3% reported feeling more confident
  • 90.4% reported feeling happier
  • 72.8% reported help in moving towards employment
  • 84.9% reported reduced feelings of isolation

Catch22 commissioned this evaluation to understand the difference The Hive is making to the mental health, wellbeing and life chances of young people aged 16-24 in Camden. It draws together the lived experiences of young people, the perspectives of staff and partners, and evidence gathered through everyday delivery, to generate insights and recommendations grounded in what’s actually happening on the ground.

“The Hive has personally helped me through a lot… I feel valued and respected, and I’m grateful for the help and guidance they’ve provided.” – A young person supported by The Hive
