Ambitious Futures

Opening doors to youth employment

Ambitious Futures is Catch22’s campaign to open doors to employment by challenging broken systems and scaling what works.

Our approach to employability is built around each young person, combining personalised support, employer-led routes into real jobs, and integrated help with confidence, skills and wellbeing. We stay alongside young people for the long term, providing in-work coaching for up to 12 months to help them not just find a job, but succeed and progress in it.

Because sustainable employment isn’t created through short-term fixes – it comes from consistent, joined-up support that addresses the barriers young people face and helps them build lasting careers.

The challenge

Youth unemployment in the UK is rising, and current approaches aren’t working.

More than 1 million young people are not in education, employment or training (NEET)
Too many face overlapping barriers including poor mental health, care experience, SEND or justice involvement
One-size-fits-all, short-term programmes often fail to deliver lasting outcomes

Without the right support, young people risk being locked out of the labour market, with long-term impacts on their health, income and life chances.

This isn’t a lack of ambition. It’s a lack of access, opportunity and tailored support.
