We provide one-to-one support to help victims cope and recover from the impact of crime. Led by the victim, we create individualised support plans which include a range of interventions to help build resilience in victims. This includes emotional and practical support, advocacy with other agencies, crime prevention advice and restorative justice if appropriate.
We liaise with other agencies who may become involved in the victims journey to ensure victims are kept informed at every stage of the criminal justice process. We work closely with the police, Witness Care Units and other specialist services to ensure victims can access the rights they are entitled to under the Victims Code of Practice (VCoP).
We place strong emphasis on working alongside commissioners, partner agencies and service users in the development of our services. We involve victims in design of the services and establish advisory groups to consult for ongoing improvement of our services. We co-locate with partner services so victims can gain access to other specialist support.
She treated me like a human and not a number in a book. She listened to me and I felt so supported.
Victim
I have been pleased in how Catch22 have grasped and led on our Case Managed approach in supporting vulnerable victims as well as outreach to those victims who are unable to report crime to police. We are seeing the results in relation to positive outcomes for victims and increased self-referrals into the service. They are bringing reality to my vision that ‘no one victim should be left behind'
